28 Letters

The Arabic alphabet, opened into a continuous field of paper.

Each of the twenty-eight letters of the Arabic alphabet is cut into a separate folio of handmade flax paper.

An accordion structure allows the letters to stand together or be explored one at a time. Light passes through their forms, making reading a physical encounter with the shapes of language.
