Harf
Arabic letterforms become objects to read, hold, and arrange.
Harf means “letter” in Arabic. This work explores geometric Kufic script through a book and a separate set of laser-cut plexiglass letters.
Each folded section presents an individual letter. Handmade, decorated, and handwritten papers set the precise geometry of the script against surfaces that carry their own histories. The companion letterforms can be displayed on a stand or arranged into new compositions, extending the reading beyond the bound page.
